UNDER PRIVATE OPERATION
U.S. XA\ Y RELINQC ISHES POSSESSION OF PLANTS (Recd 9 p.m.) Washington. May 20. Mr. Roosevelt ordered Col. F. Knox. Secretary of the Navy, to relinquish possession of the three plants of the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation, which the Navy Department took over because the output was unsatisfactory. An executive order said the President now finds the plant will be privately operated in a manner consistent with the war effort.
