SOMEBODY’S SON

Some appropriate verses were received by Mr. T. Souter, Wanganui, from his son. Leading-Aircraftman J. I Souter, N.Z.R.A.F., xvho is serving I overseas. They xvere written by i Squadron-Leader G. L. Creed, I R.C.A.F., for Airflight, a Canadian I magazine. Mr. Souter handed the copy to the National Savings ori ganiser yesterday in the hope that it I would siimulate" interest in the Liberty Loan campaign in Wanganui. j Following are the verses:— “Somebody’s Son” 1 Somebody’s Son has volunteered j To risk his life for you. Somebody’s Son is far from home And the things that homefolk do. i Somebody s Son for your freedom's sake j Is preparing himself for xvar. Somebody’s Son deserves your help For it's YOU he is fighting for! Somebody’s Mother is giving her boy In a Cause that is yours as well. Somebody’s Wife knows a loneliness That only her heart can tell. Somebody’s Mother and Somebody's Wife Are doing all they can do. Somebody prays that some other may care—- ] And the ansxver is up to YOU! Somebody’s Son in the days to come Must meet the bitter test. Somebody's Man for our Freedom’s plan In a foreign field may rest. Somebody’s Job is to care tor them NOW— For on them all our hopes depend. Somebody’s Job is to dig up the cash —And that Somebody's YOU, my friend!
