WOMEN REPORTERS
WELCOMED AT AUCKLAND Two women reporters from Auckland newspapers were at the Press table at the meeting of the W.ulemata Electric-Power Board on Monday. an unprecedented event. Women have reported local b >dy me tings before, but this was the first time that two women from the main dailies in Auckland had attended a mee ing together. They were given a gracious “official" welcome by the chairman. Mr. W. B. Darlow (an u iusual experience for reporters, who but r. >t heard at meetings). H n said it was the first time in his experience hat he had presided at a meeting reported hr women, and he and the members proceeded to give them a big hand, nsi't'ng on th°ir staying tn afternoon tea. This was certainly appreciated, nut the irr- sistib’e question arises in Ihe mind of one of the reporters: W ■ says that women are Ihe only ones w ho like a cup of tea when they get together?
