Maureen O'Hara and James Ellison are co-starred in a new romantic musical picture “They Met in Argentina," screening at the Opera House to-day, The associate feature, “Scattergood Baines" is the first of a scries of motion pictures based on Clarence Budington Kelland’s famous character of fiction. “Blood and Sand.” Screening at the Opera House tomorrow, “Blood and Sand," the brilliant drama of Spain and its famed bull arena presents Tyrone Power in lhe role ol an illiterate matador. The story of lhe film describes his rise to fame and his untimely end. In his poorer days he was uevoted to his wife, who is unwavering in her love for him. As he rises and finally becomes the first man in Spain he meets a beautiful woman from Paris who steals him from his wile and becomes the factor behind his gradual downfall. Tyrone Power’s characterisation oi the matador is well balanced and delightful. Linda Darnell as his wile, in the story one of fear and sorrow, gives an outstanding performance, Rita Hayworth, whose vivacious beauty is instrumental in causing Power’s downfall, is admirably cast. Nazimova, dramatically portraying I'ower's mother, and J. Carrol Naish and Lyn Bari are at the head of a fine supporting cast. Brilliant, technicolour photography gives realism to the spectacular arena scenes, and there are some awe-inspiring moments in lhe ringside chapel.
