DONAGHY’S ROPE PROFITS. The account, of Donawhy’a Rope and Twine Company (Dunedin) for the year ended March 31 show a net profit of £lO,828, compared with £10,844 last year, and £10JI!7 in 194 i). The sum available for distribution is £14.740. and the directors recommend a final dividend of 1/3 n share, absnibing £537.i. on old shares, making with the interim dividend of 9d a share, a total of 2/- fot the year, unchanged, and 6d a shnie on the new shares, requiring £975. The carry-forward is £8390, against £7137 brought in. TALPIRI COAL YEAR. Net earnings of £9532. compared with £9407 last year, and £1<',592 in 1910. arc shown in the accounts of Taupiri Coal Mines Ltd. for the year ended March 31. Profit is reached after allowing for depreciation and transferring £l2,soil (£10,260 iast year) to taxation reserve. Preference «haren dividends amounting to £l2BO have been paid, leaving £8252 available. An unchanged dividend of 1/3 a share, or C>J per cent., is proposed on ordinary shares, requiring £8125. The accounts ot the Lamport and Holt Line Limited for 11'41 show that the profits on voyages, after providing for taxation, etc., amounted to £164,984, compared with £191,609 lor the previous 12 months, to which is added £lO6 (£105) brought in and £19,362 (£6381 I interest on investments and deposits, making a total of £184,452 (£198,095). The sum of £5778 (£6503) has been added lo the employees' pension scheme, and directors’ fees absorbed £l2OO (same), leaving a net profit oi £174,174 (£187,392). The board recommend that £100,()i)0 (£40,000) be allocated to depreciati' n of the licet, which is at the rate of 10 per cent, instead of the usual 5 per cent., and. as already announced, the dividend is maintained at 6 per cent, for the year, less tax, the sum of £2u2,957 (£155,267) lining carried forward.
