BURGLARY AT TAIHAPE
, MAN COMMITTED TO SUPREME COURT . (0.C.) Taihape, May 19. Charged that, on May 14, he did > break and enter the counting house • of the Gretna Hotel and commit theft, Frank Tuliev appeared before Mr. A. , Coleman. S.M., in the Taihape Magis- ; trate’s Court and was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence. Mr. Ongley, who appeared for accused, entered a plea of guilty. In evidence, Mr. J. Quirk, proprietor of the Gretna Hotel, said that 1 At 10.3 p.m. on May 13 he left the office locked. In the two cash boxes i in the roll-top desk there was £7O i odd. In the morning he found the 1 office door open and the Yale lock ' snibbed back. Cash totalling £56 3s < was missing. Accused, who had been ' staying at the hotel for some time, represented a borer cure company. When interviewed by Detective L. B. Vasia, of Wanganui, accused admitted taking the money, which he hid in his room. The amount re- ' covered was £3O 18s lOd.
