LAVA FLOW THREATENS HAWAII CITY (Recd. 10.5 p.m.) Honolulu, May 18. The Army Department revealed that the world's largest volcano, Mauna Loa, on the island of Hawaii, exploded violently on April 26 and continued in eruption for a fortnight until the huge lava flow which threatened the city of Hilo was finally rendered quiet by aerial bombing.
