Fraser, when a deputation from the j|j Sarjeant Gallery Committee requested last night that an oil painting ol Sergeant-rilot J. A. Ward. V.C., be hung permanently in the gallery. . The deputation c onsisted of the j chairman, Mr. J. J. Scott, and the honorary curator, Mr. C. L. Duigan. «<•: Mr. Duigan said Sergeant-Pilot Ward was born in Wanganui and hi.' parents lived in the city. The painting ' was presented to the New Zealand Government. It seemed only right, however, that the painting should be I transferred to the Sarjeant Gallery.
