NEW U.S. NAVAL POST
Washington, May 17. In a step reflecting the rapidlygrowing importance of air power in sea warfare, the Navy Department has created the office of Assistant Chief of Naval Operations for Air assigning to the post Rear-Admiral John H. Towers, pioneer aviation enthusiast. Rear-Admiral Towers will continue in his present capacity as Chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics, in addition to new duties.
