RATA NOTES

RATA-PUTORINO BRANCH W.D.F.U. The Rata-Putorino branch of the W.D.F.U. held their annual dance in the Rata Hall on Tuesday, May 12. it was a great success, both socially ana financially. Visitors were present from Marton, Hunterville, Turakina and Wanganui. The music was supplied by the Hunterville Midnight Revellers, and was appreciated by the dancers. Extras were played by Mrs. Wereta. The chocolate wheel was a novelty and was kept turning all the evening. The competition was won by Mr. C. Turner. The profit from the dance amounted to £2O and will be used to augment the branch’s funds, which were getting low on account of calls for patriotic purposes. Mr. A. Mitchell made a very eflicient M.C. and kept the evening going with a swing. The committee wish to thank all those who helped to make the dance a success. RATA R.S.A. The annual general meeting of the Rata Returned Services’ Association will be held in the Rata Hall on Saturday, May 23, at 7.30 p.m.
