SUBMARINE OFFICER MISSING

COLLEGIATE OLD BOY LIEUT. P. R. H. ALLEN, R.N. Lieut. P. R. H. Allen, R.N., only son of Colonel Sir Stephen Allen, K.8.E., C.M.G., D. 5.0., and Lady 1 Allen, of Morrinsville, has been re1 ported missing and his submarine ■ overdue in the Mediterranean. Lieut. Allen has a splendid record. Educated at King’s Preparatory ■ School and Wanganui Collegiate School—where he won the school’s most noted award, the Marshall Memorial Exhibition—he entered the Royal Navy nine months before the 3 war. His record in passing fhe varls ous examinations was particularly good, and he next served as a midshipman in H.M.S. Norfolk and Ber- . wick, transferring to H.M. destroyer 2 Vanessa and then to H.M.S.
