COMPOSITOR SENTENCED TO TO 12 YEARS
(P.A.) Auckland, May 14. "It is the worst case of its kind that has come before me in the eight years I have been on the Bench,” declared Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court, when sentencing Reginald Carr Harrison Rex, aged 46, compositor, to 12 years’ imprisonment on a number of charges of offences of indecent assault on young males of which prisoner had been convicted. The judge also declared prisoner an habitual criminal, to be detained until such time as it appeared to the Court to be safe for him to have his freedom again.
