ALL AID TO ALLIES Washington, May 11. Dr. Prado, the first South American president to address the Senate, said to-day that the co-operation of Peru was destined to represent a factor of real importance in the solutions of common problems of continental defence. He pledged the co-operation of Peru to the United Nations in the war effort. Dr. Prado described the United States as brain, heart and propelling impulse of the titanic fight for freedom. “All nations opposing the Axis must co-ordinate with severe precision absolutely all economic and social activities. so that mobilisation of the material and spiritual resources of each nation respond to the utmost maximum efficiency.” Dr. Prado also briefly addressed the House of Representatives, expressing his conviction that victory would crown the Allies’ efforts and the Americas together would open for the future world a new era of happy good neighbourliness among men and liberty for nations.
