OBITUARY

MR ALFRED THOMAS JOHN SHAW i l' Mr. Alfred Thomas John (Pal' Shaw died suddenly at Howick, near Aucklan, on Tuesday. Mr. Shaw was relieving manager lor the Bank of' New Zealand lor many years and in 1932 he was appointed manager at Bulls and recently retired on account of ill-health. He left Bulls live days ago for Howick where he had intended to retire. On Tuesday, after he had been cutting firewood, nis heart became affected and he expired shortly 1 afterwards. Mr. Shaw married Miss Alexa Stew- c art, of Masterion. a sister of Mrs. F. f R. H. Brice (Marton), Mrs. F. Johns- i lon (Turakina), Mrs. C. Matthews 1 (Hamilton) and Mrs. W. H. Chambers c (Wellington). Mr. Shaw was a keen r sportsman and golfer, being a promin- o ent. member of the Rangitikei Goll I Club, and was one cf the prime movers 1 in the erection of the rest room at s Bulls. He leaves a widow and two t sons, 6 and 8 years of age. 1
