PUBLIC HOSPITAL PRAISED
FORMER PATIENT’S TRIBUTE Warm appreciation of the treatment he received while a patient in the Wanganui Hospital recently, has been expressed by Dr. T. H. A. Valentine. former Director-General of Health for New Zealand, in a letter to the Wanganui Hospital Board. “For nearly four weeks I have been a patient in your hospital and I cannot speak too highly of the treatment . I there received from the medical and nursing staff under the charge of your medical superintendent, Dr. H. L. Widdowson, and how grateful I am to your radiologist. Dr. B. T. Hooper, for his very skilful treatment of my case. Il was simply marvellous," Dr. Valentine wrote. "I would be failing in my duty were I not to refer to the kindness of Sister Liffiton, of Eason Ward, and her nurses. Eason Ward is indeed a happy one and I know that opinion is shared by my fellow patients—a happy ward in a very happy hospital and an admirably conducted one." The board, at its meeting yesterday, also received other letters of thanks from former patients, or relatives of former patients.
