HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION
NOW ESSENTIAL INDUSTRY. Hospital construction had now been declared ah essential industry, stated the Minister of Health, Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, in a letter received by the Wanganui Hospital Board at its monthly meeting yesterday. The Minister’s letter was a reply to the board’s request that materials and labour be made available for hospital construction. The chairman, Mr. W. E. Broderick (Maxwell) said he had also discussed this with the Director-General ol Health. Dr. M H. Watt, Wellington, and had been assured that materials for hospital building would come next to military requirements.
