FORCES IN BURMA
NO FURTHER CONTACT CONCENTRATIONS IN SOUTH London, March 17. In Burma the enemy has not yet made further contact with our troops, but to-day's communique from Bombay says that certain enemy concentrations have been reported on the roads to the south. In northern Siam, Chinese patrols have had a successful encounter with the enemy. They killed 100 Japanese and the rest retreated. It was stated in London to-day that heavy casualties were inflicted on the enemy in the recent diversion raids on the Sittang River when our forces captured three villages. The operation appears to have been completely successful.
