MAGISTRATE’S COURT
MI SC ELLA N EOUS CASES A scrap-metal dealer, Edward Adams, was charged in the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court this week witn carrying on the business of a secondhand dealer without a licence. Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M.. presided. DetectiveSergeant J. K. Robertson appeared for the police, and Mr. R. Brown for Adams. Nir. Salmon reserved his decision. Pleading guilty to th-ft of clothing md various articles from the Federal Hotel, valued ai £3 15s 3d, Vincent O’Connor aged 52 years, was admitted io probation for 12 months. On a ■harge of breach of a prohibition order, he was convicted and discharged. Sergeant F. J. Bennington, who appeared for the police, said that O’Connor, who was staying at the Federal Hotel, stole the articles from bedrooms.
