U.S. SHIP CONSTRUCTION
GREATEST IN WORLD * i Washington. March 13. The Maritime Commission has enlarged the 1942-43 ship construction programme from 18,000,000 to 20,000,000 tons, calling for nearly 2000 ships. Maritime Commissioner Vickery said the American production of ships would be greater than all the rest of the shipyards in the world combined.
