SA TURD AY’S R ESI LTS The big draw game in women’s baseball on Saturday was between Amazons and Checkers, when two well-trained and keen teams fought a hard tussle, with Amazons winning by a small margin. Following are the results: Amazons. 0 5 4 1 5 2 1 18. v. Checkers, 0 34 3 0 1 o—ll. Improved fielding was shown on several occasions when an apparent, home run was hit but the outfield, quickly gathered in the ball and sent it in to keep the runners on the bases. Consequently no home runs were scored. Other games: Hinemoa 26. v. Crown 5. Kia Toa won from Trojans by default, as also did McGruer’s from Star.
