GERMAN SPY RING
LONG IMPRISONMENT TERMS IN U.S.A. London, March 13. Six mi n and a woman, all members of a Gorman spy ring, have received ion-' terms of imprisonment in th" United Stall - in the first spy trial of the war. The man described as the "brains of the ring” was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment, and a woman, accused of mailing letters in secret script lo Gorman agents, was sentenced to 15 years. Evidence showed ti.at all the accused were involved in a conspiracy to obtain plans of America's super-bomber. Bit). George Sylvester Vicreek, the German agent' who was convicted of violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, was sentenced to the maximum penalty of from two to six years
