COUNTY E.P.S. SCHEME
DISCUSSION IN WANGANUI The formation of a country E.P.S. * organisation which would co-operate > with the Wanganui Executive Comf mittee, and the allocation of personnel enrolled under the compulsory system, were among the questions discussed * at the monthly meeting of the Wanganui County Council. The clerk, Mr. G. Darbyshire, said that enrolment forms tilled in by men z living in the county had been for--1 warded to him. It would not be pos- " sible to allocate these men to various E.P.S. duties till the county organisation was formed. Cr. J. J. Lissette said some elderly n men in the county were untit for the ? more strenuous Home Guard training. ’• m an emergency, however, these men s could carry out many important t duties, including assistance with the e evacuation of women and children c from the city. t The chairman, Cr. A. H. Collins, v said a meeting was held at Fordell red cently to form an E F.S. organisation s in the county.
