, RATIONALISING DELIVERY (P.A.) ngton, March 12 Important regulations governing the transport of stock in country districts arc gazetted to-night. The\ are the Stock Transport Emergency Regulations, 1942, which are designed to rationalise deliveries of stock by motor vehicles in order chiefly to conserve petrol and manpower. Under the regulations authority i.given to the Minister of Transport. Ic. set up local committees on which wil. sit representatives of the farming community, goods service licensees, stock and station agents and exporters of meat. The committees will have control over the delivery of livestock in the various districts and will act in most cases in co-operation wil the stock transport pool, which will be a road transport operators' pool. The pool’s function will be to allocate orders and make recommendations to the committees. Right of appeal to the licensing authority for the district against, any decision "of committees or pools is included in the regulations, which also enable the committees to delegate their powers to any person or persons
