SOLDIER’S DEATH
EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. A verdict that Private C. S. Dick soldier, single, aged 26, of Taihape died from a bullet wound, self-inflict ed, at a military camp, was returnee al the inquest held at Palmerstoi North on Wednesday. The coroner said a suddenl actioi had impelled Dick to take his life. Private C. D. Crane stated Diet was on guard and witness heard a report and saw Dick lying on the grounc injured in the head. Constable W. T. Paget said Dick’: rifle held one spent cartridge anc there were nine rounds in a pouch ir his equipment. He said Dick was i . moody type and would not mix wit! - . others.
