FINANCIER’S DEATH
MR. CORNELIUS \ AN DERBI LT New York. March 4 The death is announced of Mr. Cornelius Vanderbilt 111., the wellknown capitalist, at the age of 69 years. He was a director of the Chase National Bank. Philippine Railway Company, All America Cables. North British and Mercantile Insurance Company. Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company, and several other companies. When the United Stateentered the Great War he was colonel commanding the 102nd. United States Engineers in 1917 and in the following year he was promoted to briga-dier-general.
