CASEY’S FRANK DISCUSSION IN WASHINGTON (Recd. 7.30) Washington, March 3. Mr. R. G. Casey conferred with Mr. Sumner Welles and handed him a message from Mr. Curtin to President Roosevelt to-day. He also conferred with Lord Halifax and Sir John Dill. Mr. Casey lunched with Mr. Henry Stimson and had a very frank discussion with the War Secretary. Mr. Casey stressed the urgency of Australian present problems, meeting a sympathetic response. In a subsequent interview with the Australian Associated Press, Mr. Casey said: “Big things are moving about which I cannot at present speak, for reasons of security, but 1 feel that I have had a very .satisfactory day indeed for Australia.”
