LOWER WAR RISK RATES
SHIPMENTS FROM U.S.A. SURPRISE IN AUCKLAND. (Press Assn.) Auckland, Dec. 18. Surprise at New York advising substantially lower war risk rates for shipments trom America to New Zealand and Australia is expressed in insurance circles. The only explanation apparently is that rates soared following the Japanese attack in the Pacific and have now been reduced as the risk is less than expected Auckland insurance men stated that insurance rates to America had risen steeply, but were fluctuating from day to day.
