ATTACK ON CANTON
JAPANESE RETIRE
CHOESE TROOPS ACTIVE Chungking. Dec. 15. The Japanese have been forced to retire from some position outside Canton as a result of fierce Chinese attacks. reports the Chinese Central News Agency. A savage attack is in full swing in the Tamshui area, north of Hongkong. Chinese troops have also commenced scattered attacks in the Shansi Honan, and Chekiang Provinces, evidently designed to prevent the tiansfer of Japanese troops to the Hongkong area and elsewhere in the Pacific arena. An anti-r- -ession conference was opened in Chungking. It was attended by the Ambassadors of Britain, the United States, and Russia, and Chinese representatives.
