The grace of this rah Jewel is lost in concealment." Mesdames Eagle and Wysocki were welcomed oy the president. The secretary. Mrs. Lawson, who has been transferred to New Plymouth. was presented with a boon by Mrs. Gregory, on oeha.f of the members. Mrs. Lawson was also presented with a oeautiful bouquet of roses. It was decided to enter exhibits for the Women's Institute section at the Feilding A. and P. Show. Patriotic work for the year from the institute includes 365 hussifs. 45 feeders. 1-1 bala avas, 18S pairs mittens. O') scarves. 3 polo-neck jumpers and 71 soldiers' parcels were packed. In addition 331 articles were forwarded to the Lady Galway Guild. An invitation was received from the Tokorangi W I to attend their Christmas party. Mrs. Eagle entertained u.th vocal solos, accompanied by Mrs. Bailey. During the afternoon, three interesting thrift demonstrations were given bv (It Mrs. Matthews, making (hildren's s ; <rs from used felt hats; i2» Mrs. Slight. . hildren's socks from old sox: (3> Mrs. Tarry, shopping bags from used felt hats. Competition winners were: (a) Bowl of roses Mrs. Slight 1. Mrs. A. S. Lewis 2. Mrs. Miles 3; <b- three best roses. Mrs. A. S. Lewis 1. Mrs Matthews 2. Mrs. Hempieman 3. There will be no meeting in January. Hostesses for February will be Miss Emcns chief* Mr-sdames Bruce. Barton. Baillie. Aldrich. Donovan. Fogelberg and G nons.
