SOLDIERS HONOI RED : A farewell was tendered to Privates B. Chittendon. Reardon and N. Hooper in the Waverley Town Hail on Friday. There was a good attendance and the music for the dances was supplied by Powell's Orchestra. I The Mayor. Mr. J. J. Johnston, in lan appropriate speech, made the I usual presentation of a wallet to each |soldier, after which Private Reardon, on behalf of Privates Hooper and Chittendon and himself, thanked the Patriotic Committee for the very useI ful gift. Wallets will also be forI warded to W. Wybourne, R.N.Z.A.F.. and Supply-Assistant R. Raply, of the H.M.S. Tamaki. A Maori boy, with guitar aecom|paniment. sang some popular songs, i which were well received. The supper-room tables were decorlated with sweet peas and the stage ! decorations were carried out in blue hydrangeas and delphiniums.
