MARTON SAVINGS CAMPAIGN
AGAIN OVER WEEKLY QUOTA For the seventh week in succession Marton has passed its weekly quota of £3lO in the National Savings Campaign. Up to yesterday, just on £5OO had been taken and by closing time today it is anticipated that the finai figure for the week will be well beyond the £5OO mark. The Marton postmaster, Mr. F. Mairs, said that the public is taking up the gift coupon idea as a means of fulfilling some of its Christmas gift obligations. In order to further the gift coupon scheme, one or two Marton firms are offering them free to clients on certain purchases. A number of Marton business firms have also sponsored a special advertisement in to-day's "Chronicle" for the same purpose.
