WESTMERE SOLDIER IN PRISON CAMP
TREATMENT SAID TO BE GOOD “I am working in a good camp with good living conditions, and am in the best of health after being a prisoner of war for three months.” stated Gunner R. B. Wickham a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Wickham. Westmere, in a letter to his parents. Gunner Wickham enlisted early in the war and left New Zealand with the First Echelon. He served with the N.Z.E.F. in Greece, hut was taken prisoner and subsequently transferred to a lamp. St.-lag 18. in Germany. In a second letter he advised his parents not to worry and said he was being well looked after
