URGENT CONFERENCE
EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS ORGANISATION WANGAMI REPRESENT ATM ES C ALLED TO WELLINGTON Four Wanganui Emergency Precautions Scheme executives will leave for Wellington to-day to attend an urgent conference. They are the Mayor, Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C.. who is head of the Wanganui E.P.S., Mr. 1.. F. Row. who, as city engineer, has charge of the large section or the organisation. Mr. C. R. White, town clerk, secretary of the executive. and Mr. H. Wehb. district lighting controller. The call to attend the conference arrived on Tuesday in the form of a telegram Io the Mayor from the Minister of National Service. Hon. R. Semple. He said: - "In view of the war development in the Pacific it is vitally necessary to review immediately the principal emergency precautions services. I have therefore decided to convene a conference for 10.15 a.m. on December H. in Parliament Buildings and would appreciate your personal attendance. Kindly bring a report on your service, including the number of personnel and the number required in each section, particularly in the warden and law and order, and reports on past trials and blackouts and proposals for future trials."
