Miss Ilene Siddall, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Siddall, Maxwell is amongst those selected for oversea: service. Miss Siddall offered her ser vices in Auckland.

Mi - . David Ferguson, Wellington, has been appointed a member of the Diocesan Board of Trustees in the place of Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., who has gone to Auckland.

The Rev. G. P. Cook, who has been assistant curate al the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Wellington, is to take over the parish of Manga-tainoka-Pongaroa.

Dr. F. R. Miller, of Invercargill, recently gained the diploma of F.R.C.S., Edinburgh, and has since heen appointed resident surgeon at the War Memorial Hospital, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.

Mr. W. A. Stewart, a member of the staff of the Education Department, has heen appointed secretary of tne Wellington Colleges Board in succession to Mr. G. L. Judd, acting-secre-tary. who recently resigned. There were 34 applicants for the position.

Mr. W. Fergusson Hogg, Wellington. and Mr. B. M. Silk, Wanganui, have been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Wellington Diocesan School for Girls. Nga Tawa, to fill the vacancies caused by the deaths of Sir George Shirtcliffe and Mr. G. N. Pharazyn.

The Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett. Bishop of Aotearoa, visited Wanganui this week to conduct a confirmation service in the Putiki Memorial Church. Some 28 candidates were confirmed, and of these hy far the larger portion were children whose parents formerly belonged to the Ratana Church.

Mr. R. Lacey, officer of the Cadet Division of the Wanganui St. John Ambulance Brigade, who is going into camp to train for service with the Second N.Z.E.F., was made a present al ion by Sergeant J. Filbert for the cadets at a wind-up social. Mr. Lacey's successor will he Corporal W Hasler, of the brigade's senior division.

Mr. C. Gilbert. Gonville. has received a postcard dated July 18 from his son. Staff-Sergeant C. P. Gilbert. Second N.Z.E.F.. written in a prisoner of war transit camp in Crete. It was learnt from the International Red Cross Society in October that Sergeant Gilbert had been moved with other New Zealand prisoners of war to camp Eight B, Lansdorf, in Germany.
