QUESTIONS ON TRANSPORT A decision to refer the following questions to the Transport Committee for a report was reached al the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce last night: (1) Harbour depths; (2) the eventual closing of the Town Wharf; (3) transport and how it affects Wangaui. The president. Mr. D. G. O’Toole, reported briefly on the recent conference of the New Zealand Associated Chambers, held in Invercargill, which was attended by delegates from all parts of New Zealand. The conference was very successful and a large number of remits were discussed, he said. He added that the conference would be held in Wanganui next year, when the gathering will be pre hied over by Mr. S. Holm, Wellington, a former member of the Wanganui Chamber. It was decided to donate £5 5s to the Wanganui Tourist Publicity Committee. The chamber resolved to transfer £250 from the Post Office Savings Bank account to national savings.
