Richardson (counts , clerk i and S. A. R. Mair (county engineer). Engineer’s Report. The engineer reported that the Kakariki Road, in the Rangitoto Riding. had been trimmed with the grader and repaired. The Makirikui and side roads in the Otakapu Riding and the Lower Turakina Valley and Wangaehu Valley Roads, had also been trimmed with the grader and repaired. Slips had been cleared off Okirae. Ohaumoko and Turakina River Roads in the Wangaehu Riding. The Kauan-garoa-Okirae-Turakina River Roads had been trimmed with the grader. A wash-out on Mangahoe Road had been repaired and the road trimmed with the grader. In the Rangitira Riding watertables and culverts had been cleared on Mt. Curl Road. Putorino roads had been trimmed with the grader and weak places topped with grit. Aidworth. Leedstown and Rangitira Roads had also been trimmed with the grader. Repairs to Turakina River Bridge |at Concrete Ford, in the Otairi Rid'lng. had been completed. Slips on the ; Hautawa cutting had been cleared, i Narrow parts of the Kie Kie Road 'were widened by bulldozer, Water’shed Road had been trimmed with the grader and metalling on the lower end reformed and dressed with chips. Maintenance had been carried out on Otara Road. In the Awarua Riding, metal repairs had been carried out on the Makino and Moawhango Valley Roads Metal repairs from Utiku had been made on the Tuhoe, Gorge, Hautapu Toe and Torere Roads. , In the Tekapua Riding, the crush ing plant at Pukeroa had been put in order, and it was proposed to start crushing metal next week. Repairs were being made to the Turakina River Bridge, in the Ruanui Riding on Wilson s Road. Papanui. A land span of 20 feet was being made on the east side to relieve’ pressure on the piers. The bridge would be in order for full traffic at ■ the end of the week. The water tunnel on Otara Creek, Bell’s Junction. | had been completed. The old bridge had been removed and an embankment built by bulldozer and metalled. Slins had been cleared off Koi Road. The next meeting of the Rangitikei County Council will be held in Marton on December 19.
