TAIHAPE-NAPIER ROAD

REPAIRS TO TARARARAU RIVER BRIDGE An inspection of the Taihape-Na-pier Road, from Te Moehan Junction to Kuripapango, was made this month by the chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, Cr. K. W. Dalrymple, and Crs. VV. Doole and \. Smith. They were accompanied by the county engineer. Mr. A. S. R. Mair, and the Public Works engineer, Mr. Carter, who explained works proposed by the department and sought certain assistance from the county. Reporting to the council at its monthly meeting on Friday. Mr. Mair said it was arranged that necessary repairs should be made to the Tarararau River Bridge, the materials being found on the site by the Public Works Department. The work was to be carried out by' the county building foreman and would be started about the end of next week. "Councillor Doole has made a further inspection regarding further culverting the Public Works Department propose to put in hand. Generally. the work being carried out does not include any major deviations, hut mainly in widening and culverting. bridge repairs and metalling, and it is expected to be completed by the end of December," the engineer added. The report was adopted.
