' and thete was a large attendance of members, though owing to the war there will l>e few men playing this year. Mr. Ron Ellery, club captain, welcomed members anil visitors, and introduced Mr. F. A. Holland, deputychairman of the Town Board, who expressed regret at the absence through illness of Mr. J. E. Walker, chairman, and on his behalf congratulated club members on having such beautiful courts on which to indulge in healthgiving exercise. He wished the club success, and members an enjoyable season; then calling on Mrs. Ellery’ to hit the first ball over the net. which was accompanied by loud applause. Competition games resulted in a w in for Miss Joan Ellery and Ron. Ellery, and a dainty afternoon tea. o, the ladies, made the afternoon a very pleasant and enjoyable one. HIM KEY ( LI B DANLE As advertised, the Bulls Ladies’ Hockey Club will hold a dance in Bulls Town Hall this evening, the proceeds being in aid of the Bulls and District Soldiers' Farewell Fund. Reasonable admission charges, good I music and supper, and free buses from I Marton and from the Ohakea aerodrome. should all combine to make the dance a success.
