GOLF DRAW. The draw for four-ball, best ball bogey to be played to-day by the Waverley Golf Club is: Mrs. Parsons and Miss Dickie v. Mrs. Muir and Mrs. Dallison: Mrs. Pepper and Mrs. Bates v. Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. How; Mrs. Handley and Miss J. Lupton v. Mrs. Grav and Mrs. Hunt; Miss E. Lupton and Mrs. D. Lupton v. Mrs. Dickie and Mrs. Brown; Mrs. Honeyfield and Miss Mathieson. GIRLS' AUXILIARY MEETING. The September meeting of the Girls' Auxiliary was held at the manse on Thursday evening. The meeting opened with the G.A. hymn, after which the minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary. Correspondence was then dealt with. After sewing and knitting articles for the sale of work, supper was served, the hostesses being Misses Alma Wall and Vivienne Aiken. P.W.M.U. MEETING. The monthly meeting of (he P.W.M.U. was held on Friday, there being an excellent attendance in spite of the very wet afternoon. After the opening exercises, the visitors were welcomed. The speaker for the afternoon was Sister Eileen Reed, who was brought to Waverley by the Rev. and Mrs. Norrie, Westmere. Sister Reed spoke of her four years in China since the Japanese war began. and of the damage done to tile hospitals and surrounding districts, making extra work for the hospital staff in nursing the wounded soldiers, taking care of refugees and obtaining food. She also spoke of the bravery of the Chinese people carrying on their work in spite of the dangers surrounding them. After the speaker left, the business of the meeting was attended to. It was arranged that next month's meeting would be in the form of a social afternoon, in aid of Maori missions. There would also be a “bring-and-buy” stall. It was decided that next Friday a special effort would be made, for donations to give to the W.D.F.U. and Citizens' Committee for narcels. Later a special afternoon will be held to help the Sewing Circle with their parcels. Special mention of the Presbyterian Church’s rally next month was made. Afternoon tea was served and the meeting closed with the Benediction.
