FAILURE TO REINSTATE EMPLOYEE

SOLDIER’S DISCHARGE FROM FORCES DAIRY COMPANY CHARGED Hawera, Sept. 29. On its undertaking to pay the reservist £4 19s 2d, representing the loss he had suffered, the Moa Cooperative Dairy Company was convicted and ordered to pay costs and witnesses’ expenses amounting to 14s for failing to reinstate William Mowat. on his discharge from the New Zealand Fon.es. The above arrangement, suggested by the magistral., Mr. W. H. Woodward, before giving his reserved decision at the Inglewood Court, was accepted by Mr. 1. Grant for the company and therefore obviated the imposition of a line for a comparative amount.

The case concerned an alleged offence by the company as stated by Mr. F. Wilson, inspector of factories. On June 6 Mowat, a previous employee of the company, applied for reinstatement of employment consequent upon his discharge from the New Zealand forces, but was not reengaged.
