TURKISH-GERMAN TRADE
EFFORTS TO PREVENT IT BREAKING DOWN BRITISH SUPPLIES INCREASING. (Reed. 9 p.m.) London. Sept. 28. The Times’ Istanbul correspondent says that the German Ambassador to Turkey, Herr von Papen, is going to Ankara on Monday to participate in a settlement of one or two outstanding questions over which the TurkishGerman trade negotiations are stumbling. While these negotiations are proceeding the United Kingdom Commercial Corporation has intensified its activities, aiming ak the promotion of British-Turkish trade relations. Since the Clodius arrived in Turkey ,14 British steamers have arrived at Alexandretta and Mersin with full cargoes from Turkey, including locomotives, wagons, and .also 1000 tons of tinplate.—U.P.A.
