FINDING HEAT TRYING
JAPANESE IN INDO CHINA MANY TROPICAL AILMENTS (Reed. 9.20 p.m.) Manila, Sept. 29 A traveller from Saigon (French Indo-China) said Japanese troops are unable to stand the heat there. In the last nine weeks 660 troops were returned to Saigon from the Thai border, with tropical ailments. The traveller said that there were only 23,000 Japanese in Indo-China, although Japan expected the original garrison to be at least 40,000 by August.—U.P.A.
