NATIONAL SAVINGS EFFORT LEADING TOH’NS IN EACH POSTAL DISTRICT Three changes took place in the leading towns in the National Savings flag competition during the fortnightly period which ended on September 23. Kaikohe, in the Auckland district, replaces Dargaville; Waverley. in the Wanganui district, achieves pride of place over Ohakune, and Opunake. in the New Plymouth district, has taken the lead from Stratford, which has held the position of the leading town in that district since April last. Dominion leadership is shared between Riverton and Queenstown, both m the Invercargill district, each town having recorded 100 per cent, depositors to population. Tuatapere (also in the Invercargill district) occupies second place for the Dominion. with 88.33 per cent. For all districts the leading towns are as follows: Auckland district, Kaikohe; Blenheim district. Picton; Christchurch district, Kaiapoi; Dunedin district, Owaka; Gisborne district, Opotiki; Greymouth district, Hokitika; Hamilton district, Rotorua; Invercargill district.
