REGENT THEATRE
< "SIS HOPKINS.” A picture that has been descri. c.l as the gayest, maddest piece of fun to come out of Hollywood in a long, long time is Republic’s merry musical, “Sis Hopkins,” starring Judy Canova, affectionately known to picture patrons as "The Scatterbrain Girl.” It commences to-day at the Regent Theatre. “Sis Hopkins” is not only the title of a remarkably popular stage comedy that has delighted American audiences for years. It is the name ol a delightfully human girl, awkward, homespun, but nevertheless intensely sincere. a girl who has won a place deep in the affections of millions of people. Playing opposite Judy in the male lead is Bob Crosby, who finds time and places to conduct his famous Bobcats band in a number of catchy, comical numbers. Among the other players whose sterling performances add to the general excellence of the film are Charles Butterworth, Susan Hayward, Jerry Colonna, Kathzrine Alexander, Carol Adams, Lynn Merrick, Mary Ainslee and Elvia ("Cobina”) Allman of the Brenda and Cobina radio team.
