LONGER WORKING WEEK
ADVOCAC Y IN UNITED STATES Washington. Sept. 25. The United States Department Price Administrator, Mr. Leon Henderson, testifying before the House Banking Committee to-day, advocated a longer working week. ,7he average was now slightly over 40 hours, but industry was only getting 30 per cent, of the possib’< effective machine tool capacity even with three shifts because of the lack of trained operatives.—U.P.A.
