CLASHES AT LENINGRAD SLAUGHTER LX UKRAINE. London, Sept. 25. The Moscow radio states that the Germans made a strong infantry and tank attack in the south-west sector of the Leningrad front on Wednesday. Soviet infantry checked the main onslaught, but a few tanks penetrated the first line. The Russians claim that the BlackSea fleet’s air arm destroyed 26 German planes, 22 guns, and numerous lorries and armoured cars. Soviet fighters last night at a great altitude shot down five German planes attempting to reach Moscow.
