AIR TRAINING
KEEN INTEREST SHOWN IN WANGANUI SATISFACTION EXPRESSED Satisfaction with the results of the week's recruiting, in Wanganui for youths, of between 16* and 18 years of age, for the Air Training Scheme was expressed when the campaign closed last night. The type of youth applying for enrolment during the week was stated to have been particularly good. All showed great keenness and enthusiasm. Throughout the week the display at the recruiting oliice at the D.I.C. annexe proved a centre of attraction for the air-minded youth o£ Wanganui. Large numbers seized with delight the opportunity offered of climbing into the Hawker Hind aeroplane on display. The demonstrations of parachute packing, instrument section activities, the operation of a gun turret and other sides of Air Force training were watched with intense interest.
Arrangements have been made with officials of the Wanganui Aero Club to enlist applicants after to-day. The campaign will be continued in New Plymouth next week.
