THREE WATERSIDERS PLEAD GUILTY TWO OF THEFT, ONE OF RECEIVING (Press Assn.) Dunedin, Aug. 12 Two- waterside workers, Edward James Duffy, aged 26, and James ' Horne, aged 58. appeared before Mr. H. J. Dixon, S.M., in the Police Court charged with having stolen a quantity of goods, the property of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Ltd. With them William Clingan Fraser, also a waterside worker, aged 33, was charged with receiving stolen property. All three accused pleaded guilty. Asking for a remand until August 19, Detective-Sergeant Hall said the charges arose out of pillaging on the wharves, and the offences were serious. In the case of Duffy, who admitted having stolen goods valued at £l5. some 25 to 30 receptacles must have been opened. The remand was granted, bail being allowed in all eases.
