PATEA. Miss Nina Hurley, Wellington, who has been spending a short holiday with her mother at Whenuakura, has returned home. Mrs. D. Roots has returned from a short visit to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. W. Bremer, Whenuakura, have returned, after spending a holiday in the Manawatu. Mrs. M. Lester, who has been spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. F. Naismith, has returned to Wellington. MARTON Mr. Don Gordon, Fern Flats, Marton, and Mr. Arthur Fitzherbert, Tutaenui, Marton, have both passed the medical examination for the New Zealand Air Force. TAIHAPE Missels Pat and June Graham, Kaka Road, Taihape, left on Monday morning to take up nursing at the Wellington Public Hospital. Mr. J. Snaddon, of Whetukura, Ormondville, is visiting his sister, Mrs Anderson, State Farm Road, Taihape. A presentation of a money-belt containing cash was made on Saturday to each of four Taihape members of the Armed Forces home on leave, by the Patriotic Committee, the recipients being Sergeant-Pilot Pat Ryan, Gunner E. Robinson, Private Carol Keats, Private Hobman.
