OBITUARY
MR. HAROLD RICHARDSON HORSNELL
A prominent Napier businessman and sportsman, Mr. Harold Richardson Horsnell, died suddenly at the Napier Public Hospital last Wednesday, where he had been taken following a collapse while engaged in preparatory work for the transport section of the National Military Reserve. Mr. Horsnell was 47 years of age and had resided in Napier for many years. He came to New Zealand from England prior to the Great War. Prior to joining the firm of Messrs. Murton's Ltd., at Port Ahuriri, as manager in 1921. Mr. Horsnell was associated with the insurance branch of the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-op. Association. Nine or ten months ago Mr. Horsnell joined the No. 9 Company of the National Military Reserve at Napier, and it was a tribute to his ability that at the time of his death he was in charge of the company transport. To mourn their loss Mr. Horsnell leaves his widow and two daughters. Misses Doris and Beverley Horsnell. He was a native of England, where he has a number of relatives. MR. ANDREW MURRAY The death occurred last week of Mr. Andrew Murray, a well-known and highly esteemed farmer of the Waihemo district. Born in 1876, he spent the whole of his life in the Dunback district in which his parents settled in the early days. For several periods he was a member of the Waihemo County Council, filling the position of chairman for one term. He was a past and grand master of the Manchester Unity Lodge. MR. T. W. BARNETT The death occurred at Dannevirke last week of Mr. Thomas William Barnett, for many years an agent for the Colonial Mutual Assurance Society. Mr. Barnett was well known in the city and was one of the first pupils of the Otago Boys’ High School. 'He was an enthusiastic member of the Roslyn Bowling Club.
